I will have to stop knitting mittens soon. If only because I can´t think of anymore headlines for my blog posts featuring mittens. I´m not proud of the one above and if anyone has a better suggestion I´m willinng to change it – pronto.
But alas, another pair is on the needles. White Karin Kurbits mittens. They have been a fast and fun knit. I really love using the multicoloured Zauberball even if I know what colour comes next by now.
But knitting the thumbs will probably take as long as it took to knit the whole palm bit. Because I find it both fiddly and boring.
When I happened to walk by Marias garn this afternoon (as one does) this is what I saw:
Maria had changed her shop window display. It is now a purple parade!
And look at those mittens on centre stage. They are my "Winter of Love mittens".
The matching hat is Ivar Asplund´s design called "Sigge", that Maria has made.
The right mitten reads Love and the left mitten reads Peace. Maria has the pattern for sale and you can also find it at the Nysta webshop.
Soon it will be available at The Loopy Ewe, another online yarn shop that carries all my patterns in English.
The pattern for the new Ulrika Nejlika mittens is also ready to be shipped off.
But I´m not going to bother to post another photo of my twined mitten knitting, because the little progress that I´ve made is hardly visible.
I knit a little on the tube every day, but my commute to work takes ony about 10 minutes and I sometimes don´t even manage to finish one round. It is a truly humbling experience. I feel like a virgin knitter all over again.
I also saw Marias new beautiful display yesterday. Congratulations to your success with all your beautiful mittenpatterns!
