We´ve been to the island in the archepelago for the last time this autumn.
There are no shops on Edö, but there is a tiny fire station.
On Saturday we took a walk in the woods to enjoy the glorious autumn weather.
We picked some apples for an apple cake with custard that evening.
There are plenty of rowanberries this year, which according to the old "Bondepraktika" (Farmer´s rules) means that the winter will be cold.
Of course I got quite a lot of knitting done.
My sweater "Hermanna" now has a neck steek. If I get some more knitting done this evening I might be able to finish the body.
Of course it was too cold to do any actual knitting on the jetty, the temperature was close to freezing. But it´s such a good place for taking photos.
If I hadn´t changed the name of this sweater last weekend I might be tempted to call it "Autumn Glory". The colours really matched those in the forest this weekend.
And I love the colours of autumn.
We won´t return to Edö until the spring now. It felt a bit sad to say goodbye.
Now we have a long, dark winter ahead of us.
When we got on the boat to return to Stockholm it was already pitch black and the children thought it was pretty exciting and a little scary.
They have both put in requests for new knitted things for the winter. Ludvig, who has already outgrown the dragon sweater that I made for him last year has asked for a new dragon sweater.
– But I want a flying dragon this time, he said. It´s about time you did something really hard!
And here I was thinking that I already knit rather complicated stuff...
Elise needs a new pair of mittens. She was also very specific about what she wanted me to make. She wants "Gerbil mittens", because in a week´s time we´ll have a pair of these in the house:
Our little Maggie, 4 weeks old.
Gerbils are really cute, but they chew everything to smithereens. I shudder when I think what would happen if they were let loose in my yarn stash...
I´ve actually drawn the pattern for the gerbil mittens already. It wasn´t too hard. But the flying dragon might have me beat!
Ååh, vilka vackra höstfärger på ditt stickprojekt!

kjempe fint!! I love the sweater. I can't wait to see the finished project, though I am waiting with Ludvig for the flying dragon.

Perhaps you can use AnneB's tatted flying Norwegian dragon for inspiration for Ludwig's new dragon sweater. At the very least it will give you a general shape to start charting. Here is the link to her website: http://www.nuperelle.net/
I look forward to seeing more of your lovely knitting. We, your readers, will also miss the island this winter! Wishing you and yours much light and joy through the coming holiday season.
