I´m so sorry for being such a lazy cow and not updating my blog until now.
I have been back for several weeks – I have to confess. But I´m even too lazy to come up with any decent excuses for not blogging.
Our holiday in Scotland was fantastic. Awesome. We saw some spectacular scenery.
I wonder if you ever get used to seeing such views?
I have to warn you now – unless it has already dawned on you – that this blog post will be pretty heavy with pictures.
We flew to Edinburgh, rented a car and set off for the west coast at a slow pace. We drove through the Highlands on long and winding roads. Driving on the left side is always a bit of an adventure, I find.
We had booked a cottage on the west coast of the Isle of Skye and stayed there for a week. This is the view from our cottage near Struan:
We were fascinated by the weather. One minute it would rain, the next minute the sun would shine. It was very windy the week we were there and for a few days all the ferries were cancelled (though there is a bridge to the mainland from Skye wo we were never trapped on the island).
It was still beautiful, even when it was overcast.
And inside the cottage we were snug and warm. There was a little Aga stove in the living room and we lit a fire every night.
To be continued...
