Once upon a long ago Johanne started knitting a lace bolero.
She had a pretty tight deadline because she wanted to wear it
at a snazzy dinner just before Christmas.
Though she nearly gave up half way when she realised that the complicated lace
edging didn´t really show because she´d picked a colour that was too dark.
But rummaging through her warderobe she found – nothing.
Well, the usual heaps of old and pretty useless clothes,
but nothing suitable for a snazzy dinner.
Since going nude was not an option Johanne started knitting frantically.
She gave her knitting everything!
She totally dedicated her life to that bolero – probably risking
carpal tunnel syndrome or some other serious damage.
But finally weaving in the last end of the yarn about an hour before
the dinner was due to start Johanne felt it was all smooth sailing.
She had made it!
And here it is being modelled by a kind colleague at work.
Carolina from Rowan magazine no 39.
The most common question about this piece of knittning is:
"Did you really make it?"
