What´s next you might ask.
Well, this week it´s all thumbs.
Yes, yes, yes. Johanne knows she should have made them ages ago.
She should not have put off knitting thumbs until the very last week.
But some people need deadlines in order to get things done.
And since the deadline for sending them off by post is tomorrow,
here is the first thumb:
A very traditional Hälsinge-pattern. The front is completely different.
The yarn is a dream to knit with, a soft merino silk from Finland called Silla.
The next thumb coming up is this black and white one:
These are new short dpns made of bamboo and perfect
for knitting thumbs. Bought at Marias garn.
This pattern was inspired by an old cardigan from Hälsingland.
Not very traditional, but Johanne fell in love with it.
Just wait until you see the front!
Now there is only one pair left that still needs thumbs.
This is Johanne´s personal favourite. It was so easy to knit
that it would even be suitable for someone who wants to try
to knit stranded stuff for the first time.
Now, if these mittens were oldfashioned single records
these pictures have only shown you the B-sides.
And if you tune in again on Monday we will play you all the
A-sides as well.
That is when the opening of the mitten exhibition at
Bollnäs Hemslöjd will be taking place.
But since it might be a bit difficult to make it all the way there,
let´s have a wee virtual opening on this blog.
Of course you can bring a friend!
